With the Government of Ireland Scholarships, postgraduate students from around the world can study for free in Ireland. Students pursuing their full-time Masters or Ph.D. degree, passionate about research, and possessing excellent academic standing are eligible for Postgraduate grants in Ireland. Over the last five years, 18% of scholarship applicants have been successful. Candidates are developed to become the best versions of themselves through the program.
The Irish Scholarship Program makes students eligible for scholarships at world-class institutions such as Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and the Royal Irish Academy in Ireland. Candidates from all disciplines have the chance to exchange ideas and collaborate with people from different cultures from around the world. This will contribute to solving the recurring problems in communities worldwide. The 2019 scholarship program awarded 1,193 Postgraduate Scholars, representing more than 5,000 individuals who have been recognized for outstanding research. 280 new postgraduate scholarships are awarded by the Council of Ireland each year.

- Students who wish to pursue a master’s degree should have a bachelor’s degree, while students seeking a PhD degree should have a master’s degree.
- The applicant should speak and write English fluently.
- The applicant must have a positive recommendation from a referee or supervisor.
- Applicants are not eligible if they have failed two previous applications to the same program. Any new information about the applicant’s host institution or research topic should be submitted.
- You can also apply if you are waiting for your results. The provisional certificates must be issued by the institution of their choice.
- An applicant must have a first-class or second-class degree.
- In order to qualify for an Irish Research Council scholarship, applicants for a research master’s degree or a doctoral degree must not currently hold or have held one in the past.
- While studying in Ireland, all applicants must find a supervisor who can guide them in their research projects.
