The following are eligibility criteria of the University of Tasmania scholarships for 2022;
- A good academic record and a good performance are required of applicants
- Candidates with a solid academic background and experience are encouraged to apply for this position.
- We will be testing the applicants’ research skills in their fields of study as part of the application process.
- The applicant must have completed and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study in order to apply for a Master’s degree program
- It is required that applicants hold a master’s degree in a related field of study in order to apply for a PhD program
- The applicant must not be currently receiving any Government or Private Scholarship or holding a salary that is equal to 75% of the stipend provided by the university.

In the event of successful application, candidates may be offered a Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship or a Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship (TGRS), which, if accepted, would provide the following benefits:
- The living allowance stipend for 3.5 years is $28,854 per annum (2022 rate, indexed annually)
- A relocation allowance of AUD $2,000 is provided
- A tuition fee offset covering the costs of tuition fees for a period of up to four years for domestic applicants only.
- A University of Tasmania Fees Offset could be available for up to four years for international applicants.
