The Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellowship 2022 is a 10-month residency program at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) for activists, journalists, leaders of civil society, and scholars around the world. Programs offered in Washington, D.C., give fellows the opportunity to conduct independent research on the state of democracy in particular countries. Reagan-Fascell fellowships also allow fellows to take advantage of the knowledge and expertise of the International Forum for Democratic Studies, which is one of the premier analytical bodies for democratic transitions in the world.
Fellows and practitioners will both benefit from the five-month fellowship program in the USA. On the other hand, the practitioners will learn a variety of methods for building democracy around the world and the scholars will be taught original and exclusive research techniques for their publications.
The National Endowment for Democracy Fellowship ensures that fellows engage with peers, have access to research resources and writing opportunities, and build professional relationships with peers and a global network of democracy advocates in order to gain as many productive experiences as possible.

- PhD candidates or equivalent academic degrees must have completed the PhD requirement prior to application.
- An applicant should have publications in his or her field.
